CORY SPARKS WINS CRSA SPRINT FEATURE AT ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY

Middletown, NY…Another great field of CRSA Sprint Cars signed in to the legendary Orange County Fair Speedway Saturday for round two of the 2015 CRSA Sprint Tour. The twenty lap feature event was the first of five races at Orange County Fair Speedway's 5/8 mile oval and the first race of the E&H Services / Esposito's Lawn & Garden "Southern Tier Challenge.
Cory Sparks and Jeremy Quick lead the field to the green flag displayed by Kenny Marshall. The excitement was short as a multi-car incident happened in turn three forcing the cars of Tom Radivoy, BK Rizzo, Emily VanInwegen , Scott Flammer, and Tim Hindley to the pits. When racing resumed Sparks took his sprint car to the front with Quick, Scott Goodrich, and Kyle Smith following.

The second caution of the event came on lap two when last week’s feature winner Jordan Thomas slowed and took his car pitside. On the restart, Sparks kept the top spot. Quick settled into the second position with Kyle Smith remaining in the third spot.

Caution came out again on lap five with a spin in turn four bringing the field back together. On the restart Sparks kept his car out front running a strong line lap after lap with Quick on his tail. At the halfway mark, Sparks lead with Quick, Goodrich, Smith, and Mike Kiser rounding out the top five.
Racing continued without caution for the duration with Sparks leading the entire twenty laps. Quick came home in the runner-up spot after numerous challenges for the lead, followed by Scott Goodrich, Kyle Smith, Mike Kiser, defending series champions John Matrafailo, Chuck Alessi , Joe Kata, Josh Pieniazek and Dalton Herrick.

The Kennedy's Towing of Troy Winners bonus award went to Cory Sparks with the Magsarus Hard Charger Award going to Christian Rumsey.

SPRINTNOTES: CRSA racing action continues this Friday at the three eighths mile Penn Can Speedway oval in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Cory Sparks’ season now features a second at Fonda Speedway on Opening Night and now a win at Orange County. OCFS sportsman standout, Brian Krummel, was behind the wheel of the #1 car previously driven by Jeff VanSteenburg. Modified star Tim Hindley took over controls of the #2 sprinter previously driven by Brittany Tresch who had recent back surgery.
