GOODRICH CLAIMS FEATURE WIN AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN SATURDAY
Oneonta, NY… Another great field of CRSA Sprints signed into Thunder Mountain Speedway Saturday for an action packed night of sprint car racing. This was the only appearance of the season at the tight quarter mile oval on the mountain top in Center Lisle, New York. Scott Goodrich of Middletown, New York survived a caution-filled feature winning for the seventh time this season.
Cody Flach and Josh Flint lead the twenty three car starting field to the green with Flint jumping out to the top spot. Flint would hold the lead early in the feature Flach, Goodrich, Dalton Herrick, and Eddie Strada in tow. Goodrich moved to the front of the pack on lap five with Strada following closely. Strada’s great run came to an end with a spin just before the halfway mark.
With the cars taking the halfway flags Goodrich was in front with Herrick and Flint close behind. Thomas Radivoy moved into the top five followed by Kyle Smith and Chad Miller. On lap nineteen Radivoy moved by Herrick to take second and started to chase down Goodrich. Goodrich continued to keep his mount at the front and took the checkered flags ahead of Radivoy, Herrick, Joe Kata, and Smith.
SPRINT NOTES: Mike Espositio blew a brand new motor in hot laps and was not able to start the feature. Point leader Josh Pieniazek had a bad night dropping out of the feature on lap twelve. Kyle Smith has moved into the point lead twenty markers ahead of Pieniazek. There are only three full point races left on the 2015 season. The tour moves to Albany-Saratoga Friday making up the rainout from earlier in the season.
