Karlsen Takes Breathtaking CRSA Win At Land of Legends

For Immediate Release By CRSA Series Announcer/Public Relations – Toby LaGrange

Canandaigua, NY (7/21/19) – The SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA Sprint Cars roared back into action Saturday night at the Land of Legends Raceway for day number one of a double header weekend. When all was said and done not only was there a first time series winner standing tall in victory lane, the large crowd was left in awe over what they saw.

Erik Karlsen picked up the 20-lap Maquire Family of Dealerships A-Main event win Saturday night. The win wasn’t just a win, it was a thrilling one.

Defending CRSA Rookie of the Year Justin Mills and track regular Karlsen led the field down to the green flag with Jesse Pruchnik and John Scarborough a row behind them. Karlsen would take the lead early on with the rest of the field in tow.

It wasn’t long before sixth place starter David Ferguson began to show his strength. Making his first start of the season, Ferguson quickly moved into the second position and began to search for lines. Ferguson found his line and began to close on Karlsen.

Fast forward to the final lap, Ferguson got a run on Karlsen and the duo battled side by side out of turn number four. At the finish Karlsen took the win by less than half a nose wing or five one thousandths of a second.

Karlsen took the exciting win over Ferguson, Pruchnik, Jeff Trombley and Scarborough. Heat winners for the 19-car field were Ferguson, Trombley and Scarborough.

The Prestige Pool & Spa Final Finisher Award went to Jason Whipple, the Midstate Basement Authorities First Car Out Award went to Dan Craun, the Maguire Family of Dealerships Magnificent Move of the Race Award went to Trombley, the Powder Tech Powder Coatings Hard Charger Award went to Steve Glover (17th to 12th) and the Magsarus Ignitions Electrifying Move of the Race Award went to David Ferguson.
